Message for EVERYONE
Advent is a season of preparation, inviting us to make room for Christ in our hearts as we await His coming. Confession plays a vital role in this because it allows us to face our sins, receive God’s mercy, and be spiritually renewed. Through confession, we experience healing, peace, and a fresh start. To help us with this Fr Liam, our assistant parish priest is in school on MONDAY 8th DECEMBER and FRIDAY 12th DECEMBER , offering the sacrament of Reconciliation (confession). If you would like to receive this, then please speak to Luke or Clare in the chaplaincy office at break or lunch to sign up. If you are not Catholic and would still like to talk with Father, you are more than welcome to sign up.

We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

John 14:27

As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Bible. With all these things in our mind, we pray together, with Our Lady of Lourdes…
Hail, Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Let’s remind ourselves of our scripture:
‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.’
John 14:27
On Sunday, as well as Advent, we entered into a new Liturgical Year. We begin our year with Advent and Christmas, focussing on Jesus being born, and work our way through Jesus’ life, with the various liturgical seasons. One way we recognise a new year in January is by making New Year Resolutions. Today, we are going to be making our own ‘New Year’ resolutions to mark the beginning of the new year for the Church. In forms, talk in pairs about what your new year resolution could be personally and then decide as a whole form what could be your forms new year resolution. This could be to improve your forms attendance, it could be to increase your achievement points or it could be to read 50 books between everyone. It can be anything you think you need to do as a form to be better people.

Once you have decided, write it in the response section on your sheet.
Let us pray…
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your guidance and strength. You know the goals and hopes we hold in our hearts. Please bless our efforts with wisdom, perseverance, and clarity.
Amen
Help us to focus our energies, overcome challenges, and use the talents You have given us..
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
DAY 4 – OUR MISSION
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that on our hearts and minds today…
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Thinking about all that we have discussed about the word of the week and our scripture this week, it is time to set our MISSION. The mission should be our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community (whichever you choose), so that we can share the message from this week with the wider community.
‘For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’
Isaiah 9:6

Discuss in your form what mission you want to set for yourselves on the theme of HOPE and then write it on the form time prayer sheet.
Example
Our mission for the theme of HOPE is to carry on collecting food for the foodbank to spread HOPE in our community.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for help to complete our mission. With all this in mind, we pray together…
Glory be to the Father
Amen
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning
is now, and ever shall be
world without end.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 5 – THE CELEBRATION
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that on our hearts and minds today…
Using everything we have added to our sheet this week, we are now going to take part in our Celebration of the Word, altogether, to end this week.
We begin this Celebration of the Word with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week our word of the week is…
We are also in the 1st of Advent so our liturgical colour is…

the Lord is with thee.

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
