DAY 1 – WHAT’S IN THE WORD?
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that are on our hearts and minds today…
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week, our word of the week is Respect.
This week, we are in ORDINARY TIME, which means our liturgical colour is what? (Clue: This is the colour of our computer background) Tick the correct colour on your sheet.
The Word of the Week this week is Respect. Make sure this is written on the sheet and your form is written in the form box.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we ask the Holy Spirit to inspire us to bring Christ to others, through our thoughts, actions and words, as we pray together…
Come, Holy Spirit,
Amen
fill the hearts of your faithful
and kindle in them
the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit
and they shall be created.
And you will renew
the face of the earth.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 2 – GOD’S MESSAGE FOR US
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that are on our hearts and minds today…
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week, our scripture comes from the Letter of St Paul to the Romans.
A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Romans.
‘Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.’
Romans 12:9-11
The Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
Make sure you put the scripture reference (Romans 12:9-11) in the scripture box on your sheet.
Write your form’s thoughts about the above in the message box.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Bible. With all these things in our mind, we pray together, with Our Lady of Lourdes…
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
Amen
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 3 – OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S MESSAGE
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that are on our hearts and minds today…
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Let’s remind ourselves of our scripture:
‘Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.’
Romans 12:9-11
Many philosophers view ‘respect’ as foundational to justice and central to the preservation of human dignity, so it’s a virtue that we must practice in our daily lives.
This week, as we prepare to move into our half term break, where we will be out of our usual school routines, let’s think about the ways we can practice the virtue of ‘respect’ using an acrostic or a mnemonic. Use the letters
R

to create a memory tool that you can use in your daily lives to practice respect at the highest levels.
Let us pray…
Lord, help us to be people who know when to reach out to others, to offer or to seek support.
AMEN
Remind us, through the time we spend with Our Lady in prayer, that we can always speak to you and that you will always be a place for us to find comfort and shelter.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
DAY 4 – OUR MISSION
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that are on our hearts and minds today…
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Thinking about all that we have discussed about the word of the week and our scripture this week, it is time to set our MISSION. The mission should be our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community (whichever you choose), so that we can share the message from this week with the wider community.
‘Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.’
Romans 12:9-11
Discuss in your form what mission you want to set for yourselves on the theme of RESPECT and then write it on the form time prayer sheet.
Example
Our mission for the theme of ROSARY is to pray one decade of the Rosary this week.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for help to complete our mission. With all this in mind, we pray together…
Glory be to the Father
Amen
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning
is now, and ever shall be
world without end.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 5 – THE CELEBRATION
Before we begin this form time prayer, let’s take a moment to light our candle and spend some time in silence thinking about all the things that are on our hearts and minds today…
Using everything we have added to our sheet this week, we are now going to take part in our Celebration of the Word, altogether, to end this week.
We begin this Celebration of the Word with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week our word of the week is…RESPECT.
We are also in the 28th week of Ordinary Time so our liturgical colour is…

I love your neighbour as myself.
