Choose your prayer leaders for this week, get the form time prayer sheet ready and then select the tab with your house name on it.
NOTICE: During the season of Lent, we are called to reflect, repent, and renew our faith through the sacrament of confession. As part of this, on Friday, Fr. Liam is available to hear confessions and offer spiritual guidance. If you would like to receive the Sacrament of Confession on Friday, please tell Luke or Clare in the chaplaincy office.

DAY 1 – WHAT’S IN THE WORD?
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week we are focusing on the word PRAYER. To find out more about it, watch the video below.

This week, we are in LENT, which means our liturgical colour is what? (Clue: This is the colour of our computer background) Tick the correct colour on your sheet.
The Word of the Week this week is PRAYER. Make sure this is written on the sheet and your form is written in the form box.

Answer the following questions in pairs or as a form:
How does prayer help you feel connected to God?
What is the hardest part of praying for you? Is it finding time, focusing, or something else?
As form time prayer comes to an end, we give for thanks, in prayer, for all who lead us along the right path and never ‘into temptation’, as we pray together…
Our Father who art in heaven,
Amen
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done
on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 2 – GOD’S MESSAGE FOR US
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week we are going to explore Scripture from the Gospel of Matthew.
A reading form the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
GLORY TO YOU O LORD
‘Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.’Matthew 6:9-13
The Gospel of the Lord
PRAISE TO YOU LORD JESUS CHRIST
The piece of scripture above tells us about the time that Jesus introduced the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ to us. He not only teaches us an amazing prayer in this moment, he teaches us HOW to pray as well.
Click on the lines below to show what they teach us about praying.
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.’
Jesus starts by recognising that God is our Father. This shows that we have a personal relationship with Him.
‘Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
We are asking for God’s plan and His way of doing things to happen in our world, just like they do in heaven.
‘Give us today our daily bread.’
This means asking God to provide what we need each day; food, strength, wisdom, and everything else we rely on.
‘Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.’
We ask God to forgive our sins, but Jesus also tells us to forgive others.
‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.’
We’re asking God to help us avoid things that could lead us away from Him.
Jesus is showing us that prayer isn’t just about asking for things, it’s about worship, trusting God, asking for forgiveness, and seeking His guidance. It helps us grow closer to God and live the way He wants us to.
Answer the following questions in pairs or as a form:
How does praying this prayer make you feel closer to God?
Which part of the Lord’s Prayer speaks to you the most, and why?

Make sure you put the scripture reference (Matthew 6:9-13) in the scripture box on your sheet.
Write your form’s thoughts about the above in the message box.

As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Bible. With all these things in our mind, we pray together, with Our Lady of Lourdes…
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
Amen
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 3 – OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S MESSAGE
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Let’s revisit the scripture from yesterday that we are taking with us throughout the week.
‘Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.’Matthew 6:9-13
Prayer is an unfamiliar thing to a lot of people, as many people will not pray or even know how to pray. Prayer doesn’t have to be long or complicated. A single word can be a powerful prayer, if it comes from the heart. If you could choose one word as your prayer to God during Lent, what would it be?
We are now going to spend time in silent reflection for a minute. We will close our eyes and think about what we need from God, or what we want to focus on during Lent. While doing this, choose a single word that represents your prayer (e.g., strength, forgiveness, peace, guidance, trust, love, etc.). Take a minute now to close your eyes and think about that one word that represents your prayer this Lent…
Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. God knows our hearts, even when we have few words.

In the ‘response’ section on your sheet, write some of the words that your form has come up with if people feel comfortable sharing.
Thinking about our word, let us now all pray….
Lord, You know what is in our hearts. Hear our prayers, even in a single word. Help us grow closer to You this Lent.
Amen
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 4 – THE MISSION FOR THE WEEK
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
Thinking about all that we have discussed about the word of the week and our scripture this week, it is time to set our MISSION. The mission should be our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community (whichever you choose), so that we can share the message from this week with the wider community.
‘Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.’Matthew 6:9-13

Discuss in your form what mission you want to set for yourselves on the theme of PRAYER and then write it on the form time prayer sheet.
Example
Our mission for the theme of PRAYER is to try to pray the Lord’s Prayer daily. We will reflect on one line each day and think about how we can live it out—whether by trusting God, forgiving someone, or resisting temptation..
As form time prayer comes to an end, we pray for help to complete our school mission. With all this in mind, we pray together…
Glory be to the Father
Amen
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning
is now, and ever shall be
world without end.
We end this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
DAY 5 – THE CELEBRATION
Using everything we have added to our sheet this week, we are now going to take part in our Celebration of the Word, altogether, to end this week. Before we begin, we are going to take some time to settle down in a moment of silence.
We begin this celebration of the word with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week our word of the week is…
We are also in the 1st week of Lent so our liturgical colour is…

DAY 1 – WHAT’S IN THE WORD?
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week we are focusing on the word PRAYER. To find out more about it, watch the video below.

This week, we are in LENT, which means our liturgical colour is what? (Clue: This is the colour of our computer background.)
The Word of the Week this week is PRAYER.
Our thanks to students from 6KGL who have planned this week’s Y12 & Y13 Form Time Prayer resources.

For us, prayer is a way of communicating with God, thanking him and asking for guidance. In prayer, we can thank God for the things he’s done and also ask for his guidance. Prayer is also a way to prove our faith in God and to show dedication and love to him and for our faith.
Answer the following questions in pairs or as a form:
How does prayer help you to communicate with and feel connected to God?
Are there things that challenge you about prayer?
How can you encourage one another to speak to God more fully and openly?
As form time prayer comes to an end, we give for thanks, in prayer, for all who lead us along the right path and never ‘into temptation’, as we pray together…

DAY 2 – GOD’S MESSAGE FOR US
We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
This week we are going to explore Scripture from the Gospel of Matthew.

‘Pray then like this:

Things to reflect on from 6KGL, who have planned this week’s Y12 & Y13 Form Time Prayer resources:
In the Scripture, Jesus teaches the disciples how to pray and we follow their lead. During Lent, we particularly think of ways not to be led ‘into temptation’ and of ways to prioritise time and space with God, rather than being led astray by the distractions of everyday life.
Q) Which part of the Lord’s Prayer speaks to you the most, and why?
Q) Which part of the prayer do you need to focus most on at this time and why?

Make a note of the scripture reference (Matthew 6:9-13) and challenge yourself to read this over the course of this week, to enhance your prayer life.
Things to reflect on from 6KGL, who have planned this week’s Y12 & Y13 Form Time Prayer resources:
Today, we think about the way that we communicate with God, through prayer. In Jeremiah 29:10-14, the prophet Jeremiah reminds us that God has a plan for each of us and that God always listens to our prayers. So, when we follow the guidance in the Lord’s Prayer, and hear the words, ‘Give us this day our daily bread,’ we are reminded that God feeds our hearts, minds and souls with all that we need to make it through each day and to achieve our potential, even at the most challenging of times.
Developing our prayer life can be calming, nourishing and rewarding, but it takes time and effort. Today, we start with a small time of silent reflection, thinking of a word or phrase to offer to God, seeking his guidance along our path. Over the coming days and weeks, we’d like to develop our prayers into more focussed reflections, words of prayer that can not only help us but that can provide guidance, support and encouragement to others.
Take a moment to find stillness now. Focus on something in your life that you need support with. Offer this word to God. After your time in silent reflection, you might want to share this with your form or keep it between you and God.

Challenge yourself to begin each lesson or study period today with a moment of prayerful reflection, asking God to walk with you through the day.
Thinking about your prayer partner from last week, let us now all pray the Jubilee Prayer…
God our Father in heaven,
Amen
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
awaken in us this Jubilee Year a missionary heart
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May the gift of your grace
transform us, Pilgrims of Hope,
into your missionary disciples,
blessed with the gifts and talents you give us.
Strengthen us to share our Saviour’s message
of love, joy, and peace
with all the people we meet this year,
so that we may help build up your Kingdom on earth.
To you our God,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
be glory and praise for ever and ever.
6KGL have set the Servio mission, which is our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community to share the message from this week with the wider community.
‘Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.’Matthew 6:9-13

6KGL have set the Servio mission to begin to build up a school prayer book. They would like you to write down or email any prayers you’re happy to share, so that they can start to create a resource to support the students and staff in the All Saints’ community to grow closer to God in prayer. They’d like you to think especially about prayers on the themes below, so that we can support and guide others at these times, reminding them that not only God is by their sides but that we are too.
- Prayers for times we worry
- Prayers for exam times
- Prayers for studying
- Prayers for times of loss
- Prayers for times of sadness
- Prayers for times of celebration
- Prayers for times of loneliness
- Prayers for friendship
- Prayers for one another
Prayers can be typed in the comments box OR: on a piece of paper, digital, emailed, creatively drawn/designed, in video format…and they can be sent into the Chaplaincy office or passed to 6KGL at any time over the course of Lent, for the students and Chaplains to bring together. We would love to begin compiling the All Saints’ Prayer Book over the Easter break, so thanks, in advance, for your prayers.
Example
As this is a creative task, prayers can be in any format, so an example might inhibit creativity. Please feel free to seek support from the Chaplains, if you need it.
Amen
