DAY 2 – GOD’S MESSAGE FOR US

This week our scripture comes from the book of Acts. The Book of Acts, also called Acts of the Apostles, is the fifth book in the New Testament. It was written by Luke, the same person who wrote the Gospel of Luke. Acts continues the story of Jesus after His resurrection and focuses on how His followers, especially the apostles, spread the message of Christianity.

A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.

‘I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way we must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’

Acts 20:35

DAY 3 – OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S MESSAGE

We begin this form time prayer with the sign of the cross. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

In order for us to think about the word SUPPORT, we should think about the people who need our support the most. In a few days time, a group from sixth form will be embarking on the pilgrimage to Lourdes, the place where Our Lady (Mary) revealed herself to St Bernadette.

Catholics believe in the strong and healing power of prayer. Millions of Catholics each year take their prayer intentions to Lourdes and the sixth formers will be doing the same thing. In your forms, please write down any prayers or the names of anyone who need prayers at this time. Bring all these prayers to the chaplaincy office so they can be posted into the prayer intention box in Lourdes and our school community can support those who most need it.

Thinking about the mercy Jesus shows us, let us all join together as we pray….
