At the end of this week, we will, very sadly, bid a fond farewell to our wonderful priests, Canon John Kyne and Fr Liam Carpenter, as they move on to their new parishes in other parts of the diocese. Both priests have been excellent witnesses to us, helping us to encounter Christ through the sacraments and by giving of themselves, in sharing their own personal stories and faith journeys so generously.
In order to celebrate and thank them for their outstanding ministry, we would like to put together a card for each of the priests, compiled of thanks, reflections and prayers from each tutor group. Please complete the sheet and make sure it is sent to Clare in the Chaplaincy Office no later than 12 noon on Friday 11th September, as these will be compiled and presented to our priests at their leaving celebrations in the parish on Saturday 12th September at 7.30pm. This task will form both the ‘response’ and ‘mission’ elements of this week’s Form Time Prayer, so that we can complete these thank you cards to a high standard, in honour of Canon John and Fr Liam.
We also look forward to welcoming and working with Canon Paul Newman and Fr Evarist Kaniki, when they arrive in our parish on 14th September. We know you will all make them feel very welcome.
