Paul hadn’t yet visited them, so he writes to introduce his teaching and address tensions between Jewish and Gentile believers. He explains that all people need God’s grace and that salvation comes through faith in Jesus, bringing both groups together into one community.
‘We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us.‘

In our community, shepherds can be anyone like our teachers, our priests, older students or parents. We’d like you to think about this question:
What qualities make a good shepherd?
Not just a shepherd with sheep, but someone who looks after people well.
On your ‘We shall serve by’ board, we would like you to write ‘Good Shepherd’ in the middle of the board. When you have an idea, add it to the board
Think about things like:
- How they treat others
- The kind of person they are
- What they do when things are difficult
Now take a moment to look at what we’ve written.
These qualities, like care, patience, courage, and kindness, are not just for one person. They’re qualities anyone can show in their daily life.

Thinking about all that we have discussed about the word of the week and our scripture this week, it is time to set our MISSION. The mission should be our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community (whichever you choose), so that we can share the message from this week with the wider community.
‘We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us.‘
