DAY 1 – MASS EVALUATION & PRAYER
Last week we celebrated Mass, as a whole school. We have already received lots of great, verbal feedback, but now need your feedback, to ensure that everyone has had their voice heard. When we evaluate, it helps us to continue to do things well that we’re great at, and to improve on anything that could be made even better, so thank you, in advance, for taking the time to complete this.

Thank you for giving us a voice.
Thank you for the opportunity to live in a world where our voice is heard, as we know that, for some people in the world, this is not always possible.
Enable us, Lord, to use our voices to do good.
Empower us to be strong and courageous, filled with the gift of fortitude, so that we may be agents of change in this world, opening the eyes and minds of those whose eyes are closed.
May your Holy Spirit fill us with courage and may the Spirit’s gifts fill the hearts of the voiceless, so that they may, in turn, be courageous and free to speak out.

The Word of the Week this week is FORTITUDE. Make sure this is written on the sheet.
Fortitude is a gift of the Holy Spirit. With the gift of fortitude, we overcome our fear and are willing to take risks as a follower of Jesus Christ. A person with courage is willing to stand up for what is right in the sight of God, even if it means accepting rejection. Mr Curtis talks about how people need courage when participating in sports day and other things they may not be comfortable with. Talk in your form about what you might have done this week or in the past few weeks, that you have needed courage to do.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we give for thanks for the gifts of the spirit. With all these things in our mind, we pray together…

In pairs, discuss who might be the scripture be referring to when it says ‘Him’? How does God strengthen us in difficult times? When might we turn to God?

DAY 4 – OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S MESSAGE

Revisit the scripture from yesterday that we are taking with us throughout the week. Currently, during this Year of Prayer, we are focusing on ‘Prayers of Intercession’ which are ‘asking’ or ‘bidding’ prayers. In mass, we might hear these prayers after the priest has given a homily.
‘And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.’
2 Corinthians 5:17-18
You may want to pray for something that is going on in the news or in our local community at the minute. When writing the prayers, you may want to use the scripture and the word of the week (AWE AND WONDER) to inspire you. Using the sentence starters below, create some prayers of intercession. You may want to split off in groups and use your mini whiteboards to come up with ideas.
For the Church, we pray that…

To end prayers of intercession, we can say ‘Lord in your mercy…Hear our prayer‘ or Lord hear us…Lord, graciously hear us.’

Join us in the chapel to hear from Karol Grabowski, Director of Province 15 of the Catenian Brotherhood, as he shares the work of the Association and how they continue to support young people in a number of Post-16 projects.

As we rapidly approach the departure of our eleven amazing volunteers who are joining this year’s Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, spend time in your form sharing in some of the highlights of the experience they will share in. Perhaps you might be inspired to join us next year!
Lord, enable to live lives of service, where we put the needs of others before ourselves and reach out, as Jesus taught us to, to the marginalised, the oppressed, the sick and the suffering.
