DAY 1 – GATHER AND THE WORD

This week is our 5th Week of Easter, which means our liturgical colour is what? (Clue: This is the colour of our computer background) Tick the correct colour on your sheet.
The Word of the Week this week is WITNESS. Make sure this is written on the sheet. Discuss with your form what the word WITNESS might mean this week and what it means to be a WITNESS.
Our scripture this week comes from the prophet Isaiah!
A reading from the prophet Isaiah.
“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.”
Isaiah 43:10

What does it mean to be a WITNESS of God? In pairs, discuss how we can witness God in our lives? Add your form’s thoughts to the ‘MESSAGE’ section on the sheet.
As form time prayer comes to an end, we think about what we want to ask God for and how we witness God in our lives. With all these things in our head, we pray together…

DAY 2 – RESPONSE

Revisit the scripture from yesterday that we are taking with us throughout the week. Currently, during this Year of Prayer, we are focusing on ‘Prayers of Intercession’ which are ‘asking’ or ‘bidding’ prayers. In mass, we might hear these prayers after the priest has given a homily.

You may want to pray for something that is going on in the news or in our local community at the minute. When writing the prayers, you may want to use the scripture and the word of the week (WITNESS) to inspire you. Using the sentence starters below, create some prayers of intercession. You may want to split off in groups and use your mini whiteboards to come up with ideas.

To end prayers of intercession, we can say ‘Lord in your mercy…Hear our prayer‘ or Lord hear us…Lord, graciously hear us.’

DAY 3 – MISSION

Thinking about all that we have discussed about the word of the week, our scripture this week and the prayers from yesterday, it is time to set our MISSION. The mission should be our way of trying to work as individuals or as a community (whichever you choose), so that we can share the message from this week with the wider community.

If the word of the week this week was Almsgiving, your mission could be to bring in as much food as possible for the food bank within your form. Discuss in your form what mission you want to set for yourselves on the theme of WITNESS and then write it on the form time prayer sheet.

Our mission for the theme of WITNESS is to think of time recently where we have seen Jesus working through someone else and tell them about it. This could be us witnessing a friend help someone in need.
