This verse shows shows that mercy is at the heart of Easter. It tells us that God showed his love by sending Jesus Christ into the world so that we might live through him.
This is mercy: not that we loved God first, but that he loved us, forgave us, and gave himself for us through Jesus’ death and resurrection. In Eastertide, this reminds us that mercy brings new life and we are called to share that same forgiving, self-giving love with others.

Easter is a great time to recognise when we are thankful for things, and to celebrate them things. In your forms, you are going to talk about the things you have been thankful for recently and decorate your form board with them this Easter. What is 1 thing you’re genuinely thankful for right now?
They can be big or small, people, moments from your holiday, something you enjoy, or even just a simple comfort. TUrn to the person next to you and share this thing. As a form you can either write on small pieces of paper and add these things to your form board or you can you add these to your ‘We Shall Serve By’ board. Even though everyone’s answers are different, together they show something important — there’s a lot of good around us when we stop and notice it.
